The pursuit of providing nutritious food and feed for all segments of society, as outlined in the second Sustainable Development Goal, poses a significant challenge in the Global South, where resources are limited. Understanding sustainable production techniques is paramount for countries in this region, spanning from farm to fork. This chapter delves into the unique climatic conditions of Global South countries and explores the adoptionAdoption of techniques from the Global North. Addressing disasters and implementing solutions to mitigate their impact is crucial for ensuring food and feed sustainability. Tracing the evolution of food and feed production from ancient times to contemporary practices sheds light on knowledge gaps and informs necessary action plans.
