When low burden is not low need: structural vulnerability and hidden burden of health-facility reported sickle cell disease admissions and deaths in Uganda

2026Open accessBusitema University

Abstract

Workflow and analysis code for a national catchment-level spatial study of health-facility reported sickle cell disease admissions and deaths in Uganda. The repository supports data harmonisation, catchment aggregation, raster extraction, epidemiological co-risk estimation, service-access and service-deficit analysis, structural-vulnerability mapping, Bayesian spatial modelling, observed-to-expected mismatch analysis, hidden-burden priority classification, subregion-level summaries, and manuscript-ready tables and figures.
