Treatment of Cutting Oil Emulsion by Coagulation-Flocculation Using Ferric Chloride (FeCl<sub>3</sub>)

Abstract

A physico-chemical treatment (coagulation-flocculation) was applied to cutting oil, which is the main objective of this work, as cutting oil has become an urgent problem due to its high COD. In this work, ferric chloride was used as a coagulant. The efficiency of treatment process is controlled by turbidity and COD. The results showed that with dose of 70 mg/l of ferric chloride, achieving over 99% removal efficiency for turbidity and COD.
