The Role of Urban Form in Maintaining Sustainable Urban Mobility: A Comparative Study for Assessing The Conflict Between Satisfaction and Behaviour in Different Models of Neighbourhoods in Cairo Region

Abstract

The sustainability of transportation is an important issue at the present time and has an impact on the rates of environmental pollution, traffic congestion, and community cohesion, as well as on thehealth of community members and their physical activity. The research aims to know the factors affecting the sustainability of transportation and the travel behavior of individuals, with application to the study areas and knowing the most influential factors on travel behavior. The research employes an inductive approach for the theoretical background in addition to an analyticalapproach for the applied study. It uses the Walk Score website, in addition to a questionnaire that measures urban variables, variables related to the trip, and others related to the satisfaction of the sample members. Results of the questionnaire are analyzed using the statistical program SPSS(26). The most influential variables on travel behavior in each study area are deduced and the areas that most promote sustainable migratory behavior are identified. تعد استدامة النقل امر هام فى الوقت الحالى وذو تأثير على معدلات التلوث البيئى والازدحام المرورى والتماسك المجتمعى وايضا على صحة افراد المجتمع ونشاطهم البدنى لذلك يهدف البحث إلى معرفة العوامل المؤثرة على استدامة النقل وسلوك الارتحال للافراد مع التطبيق على مناطق الدراسة ومعرفة اكثر العوامل تأثيراً على سلوك الارتحال لافراد العينة، وذلك باتباع المنهج الاستقرائى للخلفية النظرية والمنهج التحليلى للدراسة التطبيقية من خلال موقع Walk Score بالاضافة لاستبيان يقيس المتغيرات العمرانية والمتغيرات الخاصة بالرحلة واخرى الخاصة برضا افراد العينة ثم تحليل نتائج الاستبيان باستخدام البرنامج الاحصائى SPSS(26)، ومن خلال ذلك تم الوصول إلى اكثر المتغيرات تأثيراًعلى سلوك الارتحال بكل منطقة من مناطق الدراسة ومعرفة اكثر المناطق تعزيزاً لسلوك الارتحال المستدام.
