Big data analytics plays a pivotal role in addressing sustainability challenges and driving the adoption of sustainable solutions across various sectors. It enables organizations to collect, analyze, and derive insights from large volumes of data generated by diverse sources, including sensors, IoT devices, and digital platforms. By leveraging advanced analytics techniques such as machine learning, predictive modeling, and data visualization, organizations can uncover patterns, trends, and correlations in data to inform decision-making and drive innovation in sustainability. This chapter gives a practical demonstration of how big data analytics can be applied to visualize, analyze, and extract knowledge from an admission database of a polytechnic system and use the same for machine learning (ML) predictions and explanations of the predictions for informed decision-making.
