2026Open accessIbn Tofail University

Abstract

Gender inequality represents a critical economic challenge, significantly affecting global economic prospects. This study aims to scientifically assess the influence of gender inequality and their diverse dimensions on the growth prospects of 16 nations in the MENA area from 2006 to 2022. Our research indicates that gender equality significantly enhances economic growth and human development in MENA nations. Moreover, it is clear that multiple facets of gender equality, economic participation and opportunity, educational attainment, health and survival, and women's political empowerment, positively impact the economic development of the region's economies.
