Datasets used for a master's dissertation titled "The effect of antiretroviral fixed-dose combination drugs on glucose homeostasis and the risk of cardiovascular diseases in diet-induced prediabetic Sprague-Dawley rats." The parameters measured included vascular endothelial growth factor, endothelial nitric oxide synthase, nitric oxide, oral glucose tolerance test, tumour necrosis factor alpha, interleukin 6, interleukin 10, hydrogen peroxide, total antioxidant capacity, C-peptides, insulin, cardiac troponin I, endothelin-1, glucose transporter 1, lipid profile, malondialdehyde, and heart-to-body weight ratios. Twenty-eight rats were randomly divided into four groups, and prediabetes was induced using a high-fat, high-carbohydrate diet for 20 weeks. Following prediabetes diagnosis using an oral glucose tolerance test, FTC/TDF was orally administered to the rats for 12 weeks, and biomarkers were biochemically analysed using colorimetric assays.
