The Effect of Geopolymers and Limestone Calcined Clay in Reduction of Anthropogenic Carbon dioxide Emissions: A Review

Abstract

The study is a review of various authors work on reduction of anthropogenic carbondioxide emission by exploring the properties of geopolymers and limestone calcined clay which made them suitable as a sustainable material for green production. From the study, it was established that geopolymer possess excellent tensile strength which help in the stability and the enhancement of the physical structure as well as the overall mechanical properties of concrete. In the same vein limestone calcined clay, was equally established to be a substitute cementitious material with adequate potential for excellent tensile strength. Furthermore, it important to understand that these materials formed by-product of the industrial processes. Hence, deploying them into other applications will not just help in improving the circular economy, but reduce completely carbon emission, thus reducing the global warming and increasing the sustainability of the economy.
