Instructional engineering consists of creating training devices from a thorough analysis of data. Indeed, there are many models of instructional engineering: SAT, ASSURE, ADDIE, SAM, etc. Through this chapter, the authors will focus on the most used model: the ADDIE model. It is a model for designing educational systems (face-to-face and distance learning) that proposes five steps for conducting an educational project. The first step is to analyze the initial situation through a diagnosis. The second step is the design of the device. The third step concerns the development of tools and supports. The fourth step concerns the implementation and integration of the training content in the platform used, and the last step concerns the evaluation to regulate the operation. In reality, these steps are not applied in a linear way but with feedback. Through this chapter, the authors propose the theoretical framework of this model and define its basic concepts and those of each stage of the model and propose deliverables for the realization of an e-learning device.
