Synthesis and characterization of Schiff bases derived from 3-aryl-2-formyl-4(3H)-quinazolinone

Abstract

Condensation of 3-aryl-4(3H)-quinazolinone-2-carbaldehydes with different substituted aniline under reflux conditions afforded a series of Schiff bases (imines) containing quinazoline moiety. The formed quinazoline Schiff bases were obtained in good yields.
