Symptom Expression and Emotional Distress in Online Mental Health Narratives

Abstract

This dataset contains publicly available responses and discussions extracted from YouTube related to mental health topics, including depression, anxiety, stress, emotional wellbeing, and psychological experiences. The data were collected through web scraping techniques from publicly accessible YouTube content and user comment sections. The dataset includes textual responses, engagement-related metadata, and discussion content associated with mental health–related videos. The purpose of the dataset is to support research in mental health communication, public perception, emotional expression, psychological wellbeing, and digital health analytics. The dataset may include: User-generated comments and responses Video titles and descriptions Timestamps and engagement indicators Mental health–related keywords and themes Topics represented in the dataset include: Depression Anxiety Stress and emotional distress Coping mechanisms Mental wellbeing Social support and online discussions surrounding psychological health All data were obtained from publicly accessible sources and processed for research purposes.
