Sustainable Tourism Marketing Through Intelligent Logistics

Abstract

The contemporary tourism environment is characterized by competitive pressures, evolving technology, and changing market conditions and therefore destinations are required to strategically plan their products, manage the actions of stakeholders, and continually review the way in which they do business in order to maintain or enhance their attractiveness and performance. Tourist destinations are collaborative spaces created by interaction among stakeholders at multiple levels of spatial scales. This multi-layered context, with its intertwined decision-making process and the involvement of local-global collaboration, makes his situation potentially in conflict with standards and regulations. This study integrates the questions of destination governance, tourism supply chain efficiency, and attractiveness and performance. Using quantitative empirical approaches, this paper demonstrates that governance among participating stakeholders enhances supply chain efficiency, the attractiveness if the destination, and tourism results.
