Survey Paper: Image Encryption Techniques in Biomedical Applications

Abstract

Abstract Because medical data are highly sensitive, biomedical image encryption is of paramount research importance. Researchers have developed specific algorithms for image encryption since popular and safe encryption techniques like AES, RSA, and Twofish are unsuitable for image encryption systems such as real-time because of their large processing necessities and sluggish encryption speeds. This survey paper explores image encryption techniques and their applications to biomedical imaging. Recent developments in traditional methods, chaos-based techniques and deep learning approaches through which encryption algorithms can be modified are analyzed. It also covers the issues, directions of this domain.
