Abstract

Dataset and Supplementary Materials Description This project comprises three supplementary files documenting a cross‑sectional study on milk safety, antimicrobial residues, and informal dairy value chains among Fulani women vendors in Zaria, Nigeria. Supplementary File 1 – Questionnaire Survey Form (S1‑Questionnaire‑MS.pdf) Contains the structured survey instrument administered under ethical approval ABUCUHSR/2022/29. The questionnaire was designed to capture demographic information, as well as knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) related to milk hygiene, antimicrobial use, and informal dairy value chains. Supplementary File 2 – Response Dataset (S2‑Response‑MS.xlsx) Provides anonymised responses from 77 itinerant milk hawkers and small‑scale retailers in Zaria and Sabongari. The dataset includes detailed distributions across general information, knowledge, attitudes, and practices. Key findings highlight limited awareness of antibiotic residues, gaps in biosecurity, and widespread absence of cold chain maintenance during milk transport and storage. Supplementary File 3 – STROBE Checklist (S3‑STROBE_Checklist_MS.pdf) Documents compliance with the STROBE Statement for transparent reporting of cross‑sectional studies. It maps each checklist item to the corresponding section of the manuscript, ensuring methodological rigour and reproducibility.
