Study and Evaluation of Network Security Strategies in SDN Networks

Abstract

The swift advancement of software-defined networking (SDN) has resulted in its extensive adoption in enterprise networks. Software-defined networking (SDN) enables network administrators to oversee and control network resources with flexibility and a centralized approach. The security of Software-Defined Networking infrastructure is very important due to its vulnerability to many types of assaults. The primary methods for undermining SDN systems are Man-in-the-Middle (MITM) attacks and Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) assaults. This study seeks to evaluate the network security mechanisms within the SDN infrastructure by analyzing SDN-based security solutions. Furthermore, it will examine the principal security solution for all tiers and interfaces of the SDN architecture. Finally, the report outlines the outstanding challenges and future research in this field. This paper is a crucial resource for researchers and security professionals aiming to further their understanding of security threats and challenges in SDN networks, as well as to formulate effective security solutions for these networks.
