Somali and English Versions of the Chikungunya KAP Questionnaire Used in Burao, Somaliland (2025)

2026Open accessJigjiga University

Abstract

This updated version of the dataset includes both the Somali-translated and original English versions of the structured questionnaire used to assess knowledge, attitudes, and preventive practices (KAP) regarding Chikungunya virus infection in Burao, Somaliland. The instrument was adapted from previously validated KAP tools and translated using a forward–backward translation process. Both language versions were pilot-tested and demonstrated acceptable internal consistency. This update enhances transparency, reproducibility, and methodological clarity.
