Digital product-based companies have been increasing on the last years with the aim to solve real life problems through technological based solutions. However, it has been discovered that many innovative products now fail to provide a large financial return. A contributing factor is that businesses don't engage in enough product discovery activities ahead. Meanwhile, there are many challenges, risks, and drawbacks relating to product discovery that have been discovered in recent years as well. To understand the consequences of adopting or skipping product discovery activities, a survey was answered by a sample of 51 experienced participants from software product and engineering disciplines and results were analyzed with a quantitative method strategy.
