Simulating the Effects of Global Warming on the Agricultural Yields in a Reel Greenhouse Controlled Via a New Self-Adaptive Fuzzy Controller

Abstract

This paper describes the design and implementation of a self-adaptive fuzzy logic controller to regulate the temperature inside an agricultural greenhouse. This controller was used to impose thermal stresses on specific crops, to assess the impact of global warming on agricultural yields. To facilitate the consultation and management of weather conditions, a network of connected sensors was deployed using Internet of Things technology. Various tests were carried out to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control method in terms of efficient regulation and energy optimization. In addition, statistical analyses were undertaken to evaluate the impact of applying heat stress on crop yields. The results obtained clearly showed that the rise in overall temperature led to a significant reduction in the agricultural yield of the crops involved in the experiment, with a more pronounced decrease for the selected ecotypes.
