ABSTRACT Climate shocks threaten smallholder resilience capacity in sub‐Saharan Africa. This study examines whether agro‐ecological practices moderate the climate shock–resilience nexus among smallholders in northern Ghana using a correlated random effects model under five climate scenarios. The results show that current adoption improves resilience and partly offsets rainfall decline, but fails under temperature stress. Under combined shocks, the effects weaken. However, a 25% increase in agro‐ecological intensity increases resilience, indicating that scaling adoption is essential for strengthening resilience and building sustainable smallholder food systems.
