There has been a lingering problem of reservoir characterization uncertainty and poor well placement in the OSA Oilfield, Nigeria. To tackle this problem, this study aimed to examine seismic inversion and attribute analysis for well placement optimization, using OSA Oilfield, Niger Delta, Nigeria as a case study. Through the combination of seismic inversion and seismic attribute analysis, the goal was to enhance well placement. In addition to certain attribute extraction, post-stack seismic inversion was used to produce acoustic impedance volumes that were calibrated using well-log data via seismic-to-well tying. The findings revealed distinct impedance contrasts, reservoir sand delineation, and porosity variations in line with well logs. The study comes to the conclusion that combining attribute analysis and seismic inversion greatly lowers subsurface uncertainty and offers a dependable and economical workflow for well placement optimization in intricate deltaic reservoirs.
