Review on Green Methods of Photocatalytic Degradation Using Nascent Perovskites

Abstract

In recent times, environmental sustainability has become a global challenge due to the indiscriminate discharge of pollutants into the environment. Environmental pollution, particularly from organic pollutants, poses a significant threat to both ecosystems and human health. The increasing prevalence of these pollutants demands sustainable and efficient solutions. Photocatalytic degradation has emerged as a promising approach for addressing environmental pollution through sustainable and eco-friendly strategies. Among various photocatalytic materials, nascent perovskites have gained significant attention due to their unique structural properties, exceptional optoelectronic characteristics, tunable band gap, and efficient charge transport mechanisms. They have shown considerable potential in catalyzing the degradation of various organic pollutants, including dyes, pharmaceuticals, and other industrial wastes. This review highlights recent advancements in green methods for photocatalytic degradation using nascent perovskites, with an emphasis on their sustainable synthesis, environmental applications, and associated challenges
