Review of synthesis process of nitrobenzimidazole derivatives

Abstract

Nitrobenzimidazoles have become increasingly important in recent years, particularly in the design of new classes of compounds with demonstrated activity in medicinal, therapeutic and chemical fields. The structural diversity and the impressive number of compounds based on nitrobenzimidazoles, along with their proven utility in several fields, position them as indispensable materials in the synthesis of compounds with both fundamental and applied research applications, as well as in industrial contexts. Substituted nitrobenzimidazoles are synthetically important structures, and the multiple applications of these discovered compounds underline the importance of these molecules. This review provides an overview of modern, efficient, and recent synthesis strategies, delving into the biological activities of nitrobenzimidazole derivatives encompassing Mono, Di, and Trinitrobenzimidazoles.
