Review of: "Comparing YOLOv8 and Mask RCNN for object segmentation in complex orchard environments"

2024Open accessBenha University

Abstract

Potential competing interests: No potential competing interests to declare. This paper compares YOLOv8 and Mask R-CNN machine learning models for instance segmentation under varying orchard conditions across two datasets. The results showed that YOLOv8 performed better than Mask R-CNN, achieving good precision and near-perfect recall across both datasets Overall:1.The paper is organized well with proper structure.2. The presented methodology and the results are communicated. However, there are some weaknesses that the authors should particularly pay attention to and handle:1.You have mentioned several related works, so you have to compare your work with them.2.
