The manuscript discusses a profound topic which undoubtedly is one of the biggest challenges facing the world in the agricultural sector.However, these challenges were not properly addressed in this manuscript.The authors mentioned that most of the irrigation water is sourced from contaminated fresh water bodies and wastewater, which is not properly justified.The authors were supposed to justify the source of contamination and prove the magnitude of this contamination.According to the introduction, the manuscript needed first to confirm that the fresh water bodies are being contaminated by the wastewater streams from different sources.Secondly, the authors needed to prove the effects of these contaminants on the plants, particularly the bacteria.For some other reason, I don't understand why the authors decided to focus only on the effect of bacteria, leaving out other contaminants as part of their motivation.I suggest that the manuscript be revised and modified.The theme can be adjusted to focus only on the effects of bacteria in contaminated wastewater streams.In this way, the manuscript should provide more emphasis on the source of the bacteria and its
