Through a comprehensive literature review, this paper examines the significant aspect of the Internet of Things (IoT) and its influence on Supply Chain Distribution, Home Applications, Irrigation Monitoring and Energy Generation Systems. The review process cut across some significant content of IoT implementation. As the IoT-controlled system for energy generation, IoT-controlled power unit for supply chain distribution. IoT-controlled power unit for a switch-controlled system for home applications. Also, IoT controlled system for irrigation monitoring. The study also discusses the challenges of implementing the IoT control-based system, such as insecurity, hardware dependability, and inability to analyse and bring together all the information efficiently. The inability to create technical standards will allow all connected devices to "understand" one another. From the review findings, the study gave possible suggestions for the future trend of IoT. With this review, both the manufacturer / Production industry will be able to affect the interactions of the development of global connection, and the Internet of Things will be greatly aided by major technologies, including Machine Learning (ML), Artificial Intelligence (AI), 5G blockchain technology, and cloud computing at the edge.
