Reconstructing Digital Based Educational Marketing for Competitiveness and Institutional Branding in Indonesian Higher Education

Abstract

This study aims to reconstruct digital based educational marketing management in strengthening competitiveness and institutional branding within Indonesian higher education institutions amid the rapid development of digital transformation. The study employs a qualitative approach through library research and document study by analyzing various scientific references, journal articles, books, institutional documents, and digital publications related to educational marketing, digital management, and higher education branding. Data were analyzed using content analysis and thematic analysis to identify conceptual patterns regarding the integration of digital management and educational marketing strategies. The findings reveal that digital transformation has shifted educational marketing from conventional promotion into an integrated strategic management system focused on institutional branding, stakeholder engagement, public trust, and competitive advantage. The reconstruction of digital-based educational marketing can be implemented through the primary management functions, namely planning, organizing, implementation, supervision, and evaluation. The planning stage includes market identification, digital segmentation, branding strategies, and digital platform selection. Organizing emphasizes the systematic distribution of responsibilities within digital marketing teams. Implementation is carried out through optimizing websites, social media, and digital communication platforms to strengthen institutional visibility and engagement. Furthermore, supervision and evaluation are conducted using data driven approaches through digital analytics, engagement monitoring, and institutional performance assessment. The study concludes that integrating management functions with digital technology creates an adaptive, innovative, and sustainable educational marketing model capable of strengthening institutional competitiveness and branding in the digital era.
