Abstract

Over the past decade, Industry 4.0 has been introduced to enhance industrial processes and address their limitations. Even though Industry 4.0 has significantly boosted business productivity, it still possesses diverse human, technical, and performance constraints. The idea behind Industry 5.0 is to face these constraints by integrating cutting-edge technologies, specifically quantum computing and artificial intelligence (AI), and recognizing human skills alongside advanced technologies, fostering machine–human collaboration. Industry 5.0 promotes the integration of AI, machine learning, big data, and robotics to enable intuitive interactions and boost productivity. This paper recalls the principal axes of Industry 5.0 and analyzes its potential applications. It underlines the advanced technologies required to facilitate this industrial revolution. It highlights quantum computing's remarkable characteristics, including solid parallelism, high-speed information processing, extensive information storage, and exceptional performance, surpassing classical computers in numerous fields. These advanced characteristics could catalyze revolutionary improvements across various industries, especially in combination with artificial intelligence.
