The findings of this study showed that the prevalence of modern contraceptive discontinuation rate of all methods among married reproductive age group women was 35.2%. To reduce modern contraceptive discontinuation, mutually, it is important to create community awareness about the importance of the continued use of modern contraceptives, improve the quality of family planning service in the health institution, strengthen family planning counselling service and give adequate counselling on details of effectiveness and side effects.
