Presacral lipoblastoma presenting with urinary retention Key clinical messageLipoblastoma is a rare fatty tumor in the pediatrics population that arises from embryonic white fat cells.They typically occur in the extremities and trunk, but are rare in the presacral space.When the lesions attain sufficient size, they can cause a multitude of infiltrative and obstructive symptoms.In this report, we present the case of a 1-year-old infant who presented with recurrent urinary retention for 4 months due to a large presacral fatty mass, which later proved to be a lipoblastoma.An open surgical resection successfully treated the patient.This case is unique as it highlights the lesion's rare location in the presacral space and the possibility of such lesions presenting with urinary retention.
