Non-Invasive Tissue Damage Detection Using Micro Interdigitated Electrodes and Arduino-Based Impedance Spectroscopy

Abstract

This paper presents a portable and low-cost bioimpedance-based sensing system to detect and classify damaged vs normal skin tissue using micro interdigitated electrodes (IDEs) and an Arduino-controlled signal generator. The proposed system is non-invasive, disposable, and capable of performing real-time assessments. It eliminates the need for bulky equipment such as lab-grade function generators and offers a practical alternative for use in point-of-care, post-surgical, and cancer screening applications.
