Gas sensing technology is crucial for safety and environmental monitoring. Our research focused on creating ethanol gas sensors using new composite materials and a cleaner approach to producing Ni<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">3</inf>S<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf> nanostructures. These materials included trinickel disulfide (Ni<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">3</inf>S<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf>) supported on polyaniline (Ni<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">3</inf>S<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf>-PANI), hollow carbon spheres supported on P ANI (HCS/PANI), and a hybrid of both materials (Ni<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">3</inf>S<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf>-HCS/P ANI). Our study demonstrated significant improvements in ethanol sensing capabilities at room temperature. We addressed existing limitations associated with traditional sensors and enhanced the sensor performance of the hybrid sensor devices. The research highlights the potential of Ni<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">3</inf>S<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf>-HCS/P ANI composites as promising candidates for room-temperature, high-performance ethanol gas sensing applications. Further research in this area could lead to practical implementations and widespread adoption of these sensors.
