article
In this work, we will develop a new image encryption technique based on a significantly enhanced approach to Vigenère encryption. It requires the use of two large substitution tables, as well as new functions to ensure diffusion and confusion, followed by a genetic crossover tailored for image encryption and controlled by a pseudo-random crossover table to increase the attack complexity on our system and safeguard it against any known attacks. The implementation of new diffusion functions has shielded our strategy against known differential attacks. Experimental results taken from a large number of randomly selected images from a database have yielded promising results. Comparison with other similar algorithms has shown a slight superiority of our system.
