NEUROBEHAVIOURAL ASSESSMENT OF THE EFFECT OF SUBACUTE LAMBDA-CYHALOTHRIN EXPOSURE ON MEMORY CAPACITIES IN SWISS MICE

Abstract

Mice can even distinguish between multiple USVs.However, the effects of communication USVs on other individuals remain unknown, except in special situations such as pup call and courtship USVs.In this study, we recorded communication USVs between males and examined their responses to the sounds.Mice were presented with two stimuli, the USVs and a pure tone of the frequency that exhibited the highest amplitude in each syllable, and their responses to each stimulus were observed using the threechamber test.The USVs were recorded from resident mice with anesthetized intruder in their home cage.They were placed in neutral compartment and were free to explore the entire apparatus for 10 minutes, including each compartment with a speaker at the end.We measured the time spent in the compartment corresponding to each stimulus sound.The time spent in the USVs-paired compartment was significantly higher than those in the pure tone, suggesting that mice recognized USVs and changed their behavior.However, it is unclear whether they have a preference for USVs based on this experiment.We currently conduct experiments to provide further insight into the results of this study using the behavioral and neuroscientific experiments.
