This paper proposes multi-objective model of a new meta-heuristic algorithm called fruit fly optimization algorithm (FFOA) for solving the optimal power flow (OPF) problem. Different objective functions (OFs), that represent various operating requirements, are optimized such as minimization of production fuel cost, power loss minimization of transmission network, voltage deviation reduction and preserving generation emission at the lowest levels. The multi-objective (MO) model is carried out to achieve a number of objective functions simultaneously, while all system constraints are satisfied. The initial solutions are randomly generated from the search space then the MO-FFOA is applied to generate new solutions. This process is repeated to obtain the optimal solution. IEEE 30-bus test system is applied to show effectiveness and robustness of this proposed procedure. The obtained results of this procedure using MO-FFOA are compared with other optimization methods that are reported in another pervious literature.
