MPPT Achieved of PMSG-Based WECS Using Modified Perturb and Observant Method

Abstract

How to generate the most power at various wind speeds is the main challenge facing the wind energy system. Tracking involves a variety of techniques and an understanding of mechanic sensors and system characteristics to reach the maximum output power point. Prices will rise as a result of these techniques to achieve maximum power point tracking. This research suggests employing an MPPT control method based upon a modified perturb and observant technique to achieve the most power possible from wind turbines. According to the results, the MP&O scheme is superior and more efficient than the CPI technique because it involves faster tracking. Therefore, the optimal choice for WECS is the MPPT approach based on the MP&O algorithm. In the Matlab Simulink environment, a comprehensive model of PMSG system settings is built. The simulation results demonstrate superior system performance and enhanced grid integration of wind energy with the recommended control method. Additionally, evaluation indices based on integral absolute error (IAE) were used to measure the performance of WT.
