Abstract

Hybrid solar panels represent a significant advancement in renewable energy technology, combining different types of solar cells to enhance efficiency and adaptability. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of hybrid solar panels, beginning with an introduction to their fundamental principles and significance in the energy landscape. We categorize various types of solar cells, including monocrystalline, polycrystalline, thin-film, tandem, and bifacial solar cells, detailing their structures, functionalities, and advantages. Monocrystalline silicon solar cells are highlighted for their high efficiency and space-saving attributes, while polycrystalline silicon solar cells are examined for their cost-effectiveness and widespread usage. The paper further explores thin-film solar technology and its lightweight, flexible characteristics, as well as the innovative tandem and bifacial solar cells that promise increased energy capture through advanced designs. An essential focus is placed on the efficiency of solar cells, discussing key factors influencing performance and the latest technological advancements aimed at maximizing energy output.
