Incorporating Mobile Technology Into Pre-Service EFL Teacher Education

Abstract

The swift growth of mobile-assisted language learning (MALL) has transformed the horizons of language learning and teaching in various educational settings. In contrast, the incorporation of mobile technologies into teacher training, particularly in developing contexts, remains largely unstudied. This chapter looks at the prospects and obstacles in the use of mobile technologies for pre-service English as a Foreign Language (EFL) training in higher education institutions in Morocco. Grounded in a sociocultural and pedagogical framework, the chapter analyzes advanced mobile pedagogical practices and language teacher education to understand the impact of mobile technologies on the competencies and digital literacy frameworks of modern educators.
