The forthcoming 5th-generation (5G) systems are a crucial technology that will facilitate the advancement of next-generation wireless communications. Remarkably, despite the futuristic outlook, the integration of the RFID system into 4G technology has not been executed adequately, and it remains uncertain whether this will be rectified in the forthcoming 5G technology. The present study presents a 5G compliant RFID system as a potential solution to address the issue at hand. The system aims to accurately forecast the resonant features of a multi-patch backscatter-based RFID chipless tag. The RFID system comprises a chipless tag that incorporates a square microstrip patch antenna array. The chipless tag is subjected to interrogation by a UWB-IR-based reader, which transmits UWB pulses. RFID technology functions within the frequency spectrum of 4 to 6 GHz bands, which conforms to the 5G band application standard.
