Impacts of Climate Change on Water Resources, Water Challenge, and Sustainable Management

Abstract

. The environment in the region of Tadla is undergoing a very worrying degradation, which manifests itself in terms of environmental injustice in general and that of climate change, which in turns affects other environmental resources such as water at first degree, through scarcity and inequality in terms of quantity and temporal and spatial distribution. This scourge is becoming widespread in the most areas, especially those in arid and semi-arid regions. This influence is manifested at the level of the injustice of groundwater resources, those suffering from a very important deficit in the whole national territory, especially the case of the irrigated perimeter of Tadla. The groundwater in this area is experiencing a very sharp decline in the piezometric levels of the groundwater and deep groundwater which is causing a dangerous challenge that prevents the satisfaction of drinking water and agricultural needs.
