Highly Efficient Antimicrobial Agents Based on Anthracene and Acrylonitrile Moieties

2024Open accessAin Shams University

Abstract

The basic building block synthon 3-(anthracen-9-yl)-2-cyanoacryloyl chloride 4 was synthesized and utilized for the construction of a wide high reactivity variety of heterocycles compounds via treatment with some nitrogen nucleophiles. The structures of all the synthesized heterocycles were elucidated from their elemental and spectral analysis. Ten out of thirteen tested compounds have been shown to be promising in fighting antibiotic resistance (MRSA).
