This paper presents the implementation of a 5 kWp solar energy system on the rooftop of a charitable building, designed to provide up to 70% of the building's monthly energy consumption. Utilizing an on-grid configuration, the system seamlessly integrates with the grid to meet the remaining 30% of energy needs. A comprehensive analysis was conducted, starting from load profile assessment and shading simulation to photovoltaic (PV) system sizing and real-world implementation. Our innovative approach includes the development of a 24/7 monitoring platform that offers the research community live data streams of power output reaching the inverter, along with a complete system history available for download in CSV format. This dataset facilitates artificial intelligence (AI) post-processing, creating significant opportunities for research and analysis. Additionally, we integrated a live video streaming feature through an edge device, a Raspberry Pi, to oversee system operation for security purposes and cleaning monitoring. This holistic approach not only enhances operational transparency but also ensures that the system's longevity and efficiency are maintained.
