HARARE DECLARATION ON CLIMATE AND HEALTH IN AFRICA, 2024

Abstract

The Harare Declaration on Climate and Health in Africa outlines a collective commitment adopted at the Climate and Health Africa Conference (CHAC 2024), held in Harare, Zimbabwe from October 29 – 31, 2024. The declaration responds to the urgent threat climate change poses to health outcomes across the African continent. It was endorsed by health ministers, researchers, policymakers, civil society, and representatives from over 50 countries, with a strong focus on strengthening climate-resilient health systems and prioritising health within climate action frameworks.
