Groundwater remains as a vital source of potable water for human consumption worldwide particularly in subSaharan African, including Nigeria as the primary source of safe water. The evaluation of this resource makes it suitable for different uses such as domestic and irrigation. The research attempt to evaluate groundwater quality of Asaba coastal region, using water quality index and GIS techniquesto characterize and map the spatial distribution of groundwater quality parameters with the objective of determining its suitability for drinking and irrigation purposes within the study area. 62 groundwater sampling borehole was access with nine parameters being analysis at each sampling point (pH, Total dissolve solid, Ammonia, Chloride, Sulphate, Nitrate, Sodium, Calcium and Iron.) The Finding from the WQI indicate that mean and standard deviation were 57.21 and 18.16 respectively, with spherical model of weak spatial dependence.
