Functional Polymer Nanocomposites In article number 2401763, Franz Faupel and co-workers present an innovative codeposition technique for nanocomposite thin films. By integrating a gas aggregation cluster source with an initiated chemical vapor deposition reactor in a single vacuum system, they successfully fabricate functional metal-polymer nanocomposites. These composites feature well-defined silver (Ag) nanoparticles embedded within a chemically intact PTFE matrix. The resulting nanocomposites demonstrate promising applications in antibacterial, antiviral, and anticancer treatments.
