Abstract

The chapter examined the role of the Open Government Partnership in youth digital initiatives to increase governance transparency in Nigeria. In the last several years, Nigeria's youth population has been asking for more openness, accountability, and citizen involvement in government. This chapter examines the strategic function of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) in promoting youth-led digital projects designed to improve governance transparency in Nigeria. The OGP is a multinational effort that encourages open governance by getting governments and civil society to work together. It sets the stage for participatory policymaking and new ways to offer public services. The chapter starts by putting Nigeria's use of the OGP framework in perspective, focusing on its promises to be open, fight corruption, and get people involved in government. It then goes into more detail about how young Nigerians are using digital tools like open data platforms, mobile apps, civic tech startups, and social media campaigns to keep an eye on the government,
