Abstract

Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks continue to pose a serious threat to networks, especially within Software Defined Networking (SDN) setups. This study aims to understand the impact of two types of DDoS attacks (Normal and Slow) on an SDN framework, focusing on potential vulnerabilities. We're delving into how these attacks affect different parts of the SDN setup - from the server to network devices, switches, and their connections. By carefully planning and conducting experiments in a controlled environment, we're uncovering how each aspect of SDN architecture responds to DDoS assaults. These insights are crucial for strengthening security measures and protecting SDN networks from DDoS threats.
