Abstract The increasing urbanization of Fez, with its daily discharge of wastewater, raises environmental concerns. Therefore, this study assesses the quality of water treated by the Fez wastewater treatment plant, focusing on the summer and autumn seasons, preserving the Oued Sebou from pollution and evaluating treatment efficiency. Key parameters, including on-site measurements and laboratory analyses, indicate average efficiencies of 89.88% (BOD5), 88.41% (COD), and 94.47% (TSS), in compliance with discharge standards. In addition, the results of the principal component analysis (PCA) facilitated understanding of the physico-chemical analyses, underlining the global approach of the study.
