ERP Systems and Supply Chain Management Performance

Abstract

This article proposes a conceptual framework to examine the role of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems in enhancing supply chain performance through improved integration and coordination. Based on a comprehensive literature review, the model connects three key constructs: ERP systems, supply chain integration, and logistics performance. It posits that ERP implementation facilitates data centralization, process automation, and cross-functional collaboration, which collectively contribute to supply chain agility, cost control, and service quality. The study highlights how integrated ERP systems enable realtime visibility, improve inventory management, and support decision-making across logistics operations. It also underscores the mediating role of supply chain integration in translating ERP capabilities into performance outcomes. In addition, it discusses the importance of organizational factors such as managerial support, user training, and strategic alignment for successful ERP adoption. The paper provides both theoretical insights into ERPSCM interactions and practical guidance for firms seeking to digitalize and optimize their supply chain processes.
