EPFIDab Combined with Cloud Computing to Process Student Ratings in DRC

Abstract

In many schools in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the calculation of student report cards, the production of ranking lists and statistics are still done manually by teachers, even when these schools have computers. Our surveys have shown that schools leaders think that it is essential to purchase software to automate these calculations. Others are reluctant to the idea of hiring a highly qualified computer specialist, which would entail additional expenses. EPFIDab is a method of automating the processing of large amounts of data using Excel files stored in a database. This method, combined with Cloud Computing, leads to the implementation of a digital platform that will provide schools with services such as the calculation of report cards and ranking lists. The DRC authorities are invited to support the platform and provide schools with the means to use the technologies made available to them.
