Heterotopic pregnancy (HP) is the coexistence in the same patient of an intrauterine pregnancy and an extrauterine pregnancy (EP), regardless of its location. It is a life-threatening condition because often unrecognised. The incidence of spontaneous HP is rare (1/30000). A laparoscopy was carried out, revealing a left 2.5cm tubal EP (see figure 5). Salpingectomy was performed associated with an aspiration bringing back a trophoblastic product. In conclusion, HP should be suspected in every pregnant woman, symptomatic or not. Combined serum β-hCG measurement and Transvaginal US improve the diagnostic sensitivity of HP. Focused scanning of the adnexa can save lives leading to early diagnosis and therefore management of HP. Plenty of treatment options are available in order to have the best outcome for the mother and the intrauterine pregnancy.
